I wanted to give you folks a few updates and reminders about the message boards.
Forum descriptions have changed. The News forum is for news not just from New York City, but can now officially be used to post news of any kind. That means that the General Discussion forum will be for all other aviation chatting, again, both NYC and abroad. However, do not post aircraft visitor threads for airports outside of the area unless it is exceptionally special. Also, do not start "daily report" threads for airports out of the area as well.
Also, those local airport "daily report" threads are to be used solely for aircraft visitors. Please make sure that the aircraft you post in there are special visitors and not just normal traffic for that airport. It is also not to be used to discuss long taxi lines, effects from storms and other general airport updates. Please create new fthreads for that. Most importantly, do not post off-topic or personal discussion in these threads.
The biggest change is the Events thread. With so many events going on lately and in the future, we decided to create a new forum for them. This will let everyone learn about, plan out, discuss and review events such as airshows, jet-pulls, collectible shows, etc.
While you don't have to be a staff member to post an official thread for an event, please make sure that your thread titles and posts are informative if you do create one. More rules and tips for the Events forum has been posted as a "Sticky" thread in there.
