As njgtr82 says the Polish TU154 was at ORD this morning, I was rather surprised to see it when I arrived (early!) from LGA. Sorry no camera on hand, it was hazy anyway and I;m a lousy photographer, but anyone know why they're here? Is it because of the big Polish community in Chicago? Are they going to Ditka's for a Polish "sassige" (for those old enough to remember the SNL bit)? Anyway great thread, great pics guys!

    Hi folks,

I spent yesterday out at Stewart, and then JFK to catch some of the UN aircraft. Rather pleased with this shot of the Bolivian 737!!

I hear the Iranian SP, A Spanish A310 and a couple of others went to Westover (CEF) Ma. Wish I had known that at 9am yesterday, could have made the detour as I need the SP!!

Thanks also to Phil for the heads up text about the Viet Triple! I was getting ready to leave when Phil told me it had just taken off. Thanks also to John at Verizon who suggested a place where I might be able to get a photo!! Not the greatest shot but for the record:

    All the best

Now the question about the departure of these VIP aircrafts. Based on your experience, would they leave SWF at roughly the same day, and similarly from JFK? I want to decide where to spend time to catch their departure.

I dont know, I think it depends on how much shopping they have to do, and which friends in exile they have to visit!

    SAM 29000 @ JFK

Just heard SAM 29000 check in on the live ATC feed landing at JFK. Not sure when she is leaving, but figured I'd give a heads up in case anyone wanted to get a pic of her.

Marine 1 with a similar chopper, 2 gunships and 2 NYPD choppers were just over Jamaica Bay.

They are hanging out over there. AF1 Will be moving momentairaly right now they are trying to get all the GA action around the airport right now out to Sandy Hook to hold and clear the North bounds out as well. They said it is VIP but that probably means AF1 Duh. PD15 just called in to hang out around HoBe for now as I type as well. Anyone out there to see AF1 go. I am sure he is going to turn way before he crosses over Long Beach if they shoot him off of the 13's.

The Philiipine A340 did in fact depart to SWF this morning, and will likely be there until friday morning before coming back to EWR. I'll post a departure shot later.

Re: United Nations General Assembly 2007

Well, you guys have certainly out done yourselves posting the shots you got on Sunday. What a group. At one time I counted over 20 people hanging in our little corner of the parking lot. I guess the old addage "there is safety in numbers" proved true because we didn't have any problems the entire time we were there. Anyhow, great seeing all the old gang that I know so well and meeting so many new folks that I didn't know at all.

Here's a few of my favs from the day ...

One of the few over/unders I shot during the day ...

I really don't think I have shot one of those since they installed that fence a couple of years ago.

Now, tell me ... who doesn't appreciate seeing one of these?

But, we were there for the foreign visitors who rarely darken our shores. So here are a few of my favs from the day. .....
    The Venezuelan 737 ...

    The Turkmenistan 75 ...

    The Garuda Indoneasia A330 ...

    The French Air Force ...

And, of course, the Iranian 747SP ...

I have to credit Mike P. for that Iranian shot. He was just itching to go and see where they parked her so he could get a ground shot. She was parked over on the side of 13L with lots of ramp lice around. We made circle after circle after circle until the ramp lice disappeared and the Sun almost disappeared too. But we got the shot and that is what counts.

    Enjoy

    Art
