    A Night at the Museum

My model club normally meets in the Levittown Library, but this month we got bumped (that often happens in August), and we were able to hold our meeting at the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Tuesday - a couple of our members are volunteers there, and we have been working on setting up a display at the museum. Since it was after normal museum hours, after a short business meeting, we had the run of the place. Here are some shots I took:

is the second to last pic where they staged the lunar landings?
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Moose thanks for the pics. I've never been so always nice to see some shots of what's there. I remember some months ago it was suggested here that the future of the musuem was in question; do you know if they are doing any better now financially?

I like the exterior of the Reckson center! One shot I've always wanted to get is of the F3F with the propeller spinning (aka indoor prop blur). I believe that there is an electric motor in it, but every time I go there is never anyone who will turn it on for me :(

Moose - is the El Al 707 finally on public display?

I can remember when it was at the Intrepid.

I called Cradle to ask specifically if that was on display yet, and the person on the phone said, "oh yes, it is". Then I drive out and of course it wasn't on display.

Good amount of display space devoted to some phony Star Wars or Jurassic Park type mock up at the time..can't remember the nonsense specifically, but sadly thats where most of the patrons that day spent their time.
