    Local/Regional Day Trip?

I'm thinking about taking a day trip to someplace for some spotting next week. Preferably someplace that JetBlue flies that I can fly standby on without missing flights.

Which smaller airports in the area are good for spotting? Albany? Buffalo? Any ideas?

Phil go down to IAD. The spotting is freindly and its a quick trip. BUF is boring, ALB is good but a bit bland to. I think IAD is you're best best. Also RDU has a spotters deck alot of people aren't aware of, its over on the GA terminal which all the commercial stuff passes, again though its standard traffic, check out IAD, think you'll like it and you can do it in a day.

I'd suggest IAD as well, Phil. Great aircraft to spot and great spots to spot them from. I've been dying to get down there for a day as well.

IAD is on my wish list, this week isn't good for me though.

you could go to DCA, but that's the same traffic as LGA for the most part. PHL wouldn't be too bad in terms of traffic, but there's a lot of walking involved.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

They have the two parking garages there that you can walk to from the terminal easily but if those runways aren't in use you'll need a car.

I was going to ask about PHL...is there any site that has spotting maps similar to the ones here for PHL? I may find myself down there with some spare time in the next few weeks...

PHL is a fun airport to spot at. You certainly will need some wheels though.

Phil, a little further to fly to but B6 has a ton of flights to FLL, some pretty interesting traffic, and excellent Parking Garages that are a very short walk from the Terminals, no car required. And you could even leave from LGA, Just an idea.

Have to agree with Ron on that - the parking garages are very accessible - been there quite a bit lately...and...there is quite a bit of good traffic...just shout if you choose FLL during the week Phil - I'll meet you at lunchtime!

[Edit] Of course, we get a little known airline flying for Air Jamaica quite often - you might want to catch on of their 757's!!!
