    Sorry. I guess some of us like flight attendants more than cameras. Since so many of you like to photograph the Etihad at JFK, thought you might be interested to know what's inside.

    well you know... a few days ago here at JFK one of their A340-s had to come back after dumping some fuel? right?

    Don't know details but noticed something was up, there were subsequently 2 flights ETD100 and ETD100A I think. But fuel is like water to Abu Dhabi, so if not a safety issue then mostly an inconvenience.

    The gear wouldn't retract after T/O so they pumped it, dumped it and came back, turned out the problem was with the left main gears strut, part of it needed to be replaced for the price of $11,000.

    Informant thanks for the detail, hadn't heard that. ETD's aircraft are pretty new but I guess these things can happen. Interesting that the cost of the part was roughly the same as that of one Diamond Zone (first class) ticket.
