    Avanti?

Around 6:51 A.M. I heard a loud prop plane over Park Slope. It sounded like a warbird. When I looked outside I saw what looked like an outline of a Piaggo Avanti (the sun was in front) over the LGA landing pattern. Can anyone confirm?

Nevermind. I just looked at Flightaware. It's coming in from Ohio. Loud mutha that plane is.

Yeah, there are a couple in and out of FRG all the time, and it's a quite distinctive sound.

that's because of the design. the exhaust is blown through the prop, breaking up that air. that's also the reason it's quiet on the inside.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
