Qantas unveils new-style logo and A380 onboard product

Today Qantas unveiled their new, 'edgier' kangaroo logo and logotype, as well as A380 4-class cabin product. You can see it at http://www.qantas.com.au/info/about/company/A380

On the site of the branding company that designed it, you can see the livery simulated on the rest of the QF fleet

I am sure there will also be some pics of the one aircraft (767) that currently has the new livery popping up soon on A.net and JP etc.

New 'roo looks like it was designed for the Wu-Tang clan but otherwise not as bad as it could be.

I like it. I think it will look quite grand on the 787 in particular. It is very Australian in taste.

jt looks out of place on the A380 window... wonder if they fly him for free.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

I guess it looks a bit more sleek and modern.

If I am not mistaken, he flys for free on them. I think he is on the crew roster though he never flys revenue. He does alot of work with them.

the new logo definately looks good though, it's a small improvment and modernization to an already great scheme. kudos to the designers...

Imlove the tips on the flap canoes :)
I like it better than the current scheme and looks good on the A380 I think.

Is it just me, or is there almost no difference in the two? A slight redesign on the kangaroo (a little more cartoon-like, I think) and a small change in the "QANTAS" typeface?

That and I think the stickers on the nacelles are larger.

the change is minor but it's significant in it's own right. this way, you don't need to repaint everything. also, the airplanes spend less time in the paint hangar meaning less time out of service. the masses will still regocnize them as qantas because the changes are in fact small. most importantly is that they didn't pull a DL.

They seem to have done away with the gold band between the white fuselage and the red tail.
