    Anybody at JFK today know what this was? Cant find anything that related to VRD.

    Sounds like Virgin America ferry run. the 9000 block of numbers is normally a ferry flight number at most airlines.

    I kinda figured it was a ferry UA did that all the time.

    VRD is Virgin America's 3-letter?

    ahhh...if it helps, heard them on the radio. Callsign was "RedWing"

    It might have been Redwood, radio is across the room, and phones were ringing...that and I'm getting old too. LOL!!!!

    I was listening to the LiveATC stream yesterday and I heard this one; it was definitely Redwood. It was one I'd never heard before, and when I finally found him on Flightaware the "VRD" was no help.

    It was N523VA, flew XFW-KEF-BGR-JFK.
