Nasty Weather Last Two Days

Wow, some powerful storms yesterday (especially last night by me) and two tonite must be wrecking havoc with the airlines. My wife was lucky. She flew out to Chicago from LGA this morning and left and arrived on time. Tonite as I was driving from the LIRR station around 5:35 I drove right into a nasty cell on Woodbury Road. Actually had to pull over it was raining so hard. Then at 7PM a REAL NASTY one came in and then BOOM, a lightning strike and goodbye power for a nice section of my block and around the corner. It is still off but as soon as the power went out I unplugged my laptop and shut it off. Right now I'm typing by candlelight. I really wanted to watch a few movies from TCM I had stored on my DVR but I guess that aint happening tonite.

yeah i know these storms have been intense... yesterday we had two a/c N111HZ and N188DM both waited over 4 hours for clearance in the "penalty box" only to return with a canceled trip at the end of the night... if TEB was this bad i can only imagine the other airports... SWF must have had a ton of COA diversions
