    Bloomberg takes off the gloves....

Well, now that Fred Thompson is probably going to destroy my fantasy of Rudy Guiliani becoming President, I am intrigued at the moves of Mayor Bloomberg.

In my opinion, Bloomy is far and away superior to the mere politicians, hopelessly indebted to special interests, we see programmed by their respective parties and campaign advisers to say what voters, in their vanity, want to hear.

    I'm really pulling for a Thompson/Guiliani ticket.

Rudy is in no shape to become President. However, the VP role being a major a face of the action, playing the public relations role. I can think of no one better than Rudy for that.

I'm really liking Thompson for Prez. He's really a no-bull**** kidna guy.

I just doubt the two would pair up.

Tom I know you’re very well read on most subjects have you taken a look at Thompson's writings? I wish I had the link still, Phil do you still have it? If so send it to Tom. When you read what Thompson has to say you'll be convinced this is the right person for America. I agree 100% with Phil, I'd love to see a Fred and Rudy ticket, and I think Rudy might be willing to be VP. Personally I think that is the only ticket that can beat Hillary. I've been paying more and more attention to Clinton and she is scary.... I'm convinced that her goal is to make the U.S a socialist state.

I agree a Thompson/Giuliani ticket would be ideal. While it is a dream of mine for Rudy to be the first Italian-American President, he lacks the polish to be President just yet. Fred is a good guy and has the charisma and finesse of Reagan and the intelligence of Nixon (my two favourite Presidents--despite Nixon's screw up, he was by far one of the most intelligent Presidents we had--just read his books). Together Thompson and Giuliani can bring the Republican party back and move on from this disaster of an administration. Neo conservatism needs to die and these guys can recreate the right brand of conservatism of smaller government, pro business, fiscal prudence,a strong and proud military, responsible enviornmental policies, and an internationalist foreign policy. All of this without the extremes of the religious right or the socialist extreme left.

I like it, but I'm not sure Giuliani would want to be a number 2. I also like Bloomberg's ideas a lot, but a third party candidate has no chance of winning. Remember how many electoral votes Ross Perot got?

I don't think he'd run as a third party Matt, look at many of his policies, Mike is a dem through and through. I wouldn't be surprised to see him run a dem.

I respect that you are pro-life, but what does that have to do with the state of the country. I am anti-abortion, but its really none of my business (or the government's) what a woman wants to do with her body. If she wants to terminate her child without proper cause (rape, mother's life in danger) then its on her conscience. This country's extreme elements wants intervention in certain areas that should be left to the individual. To me I want my government to protect the nation, its borders, have good foregn and trade relations, make sure the country is economically healthy and the air i breathe is clean.

Of course it is. No question. Rudy can beat her. Believe me.
