Tom, thanks for posting, great story. There was a small photo of the P-38 on the front page of USAToday.

Does anyone think this is an event worth while to go to? because from waht I've heard, TEB cops are similar to EWR cops in terms of their views on plane spotting.
But aside from that is anyone going?
I took alook at that site and I still can't find it- what time she is leaving TEB?

I am proud to say that the P-38 will be arriving at approx 12pm on thursday afternoon, and will be taxiing to my work (i fell seriously lucky!) at Jet Aviation where she will be on static display inside the hangar under armed gaurds ( no joke )... On thursday afternoon there will be a media-day where all the major news companies will be there conducting interviews and filming footage... later 1 hour before sunset the P-38 will leave TEB with a 2 a/c escort consisting of 2 P-51D's and a photo A-Star helicopter for a photo shoot around the Statue of Liberty to capture the sunset... after the shoot she will return to TEB for an overnight rest inside hangar 118 where at 0700 in the morning she will be rolled out for the beginning of the recreation flight... I do know that she will be departing on friday morning from RW01 ( according to Airport Ops)... more infor to follow!
