What Does An Airline Do If A Specialty Plane Crashed?

Hey Guys:

I have always wondered what an airline would do if a specialty plane crashed? would they repaint another plane in the same scheme or just leave that one out? I also wondered what if one got into an accident such as an runway over run and any other accident- would they still keep the scheme?

Refer to the Singapore 744 crash in Taiwan back in 1999/

As Ryan mentioned Singapore has never painted another aircraft in a special livery since that crash due to superstition.

And even with Star Alliance you notice they don't paint the full aircraft in the livery. The tail stays in the regular Singapore colors. Apparently this was done out of the superstition.

Tam lost an F-100 in Brazil in 1996 killing all 99 onboard that was adorned in a nice special scheme in conjunction with Air Transport World magazine.

Superstition after only one crash? That sounds weird to me, I would think Singapore Airlines would become worried after two or three special scheme crashes, not just one.
