JFK spotting 4/29 review (starting AFTER early morning)

    Hi everyone,

Eric, Gordon, Big G, Ryan, and myself went out to JFK today. The weather totally sucked for a majority of the day, but starting at about 4pm it started to clear...much to our delight! 8)

We did a lil HoBe sesh, firestone sesh, and after the ever so decisive JFK atc -ers decided to switch to 4L/R ops, we did a lil improv. sesh haha! Once it started to clear, our spirits were lifted, and it ended up being a great day had by all.

The most exciting part of the day (for me, atleast!) was getting to see a surprise Finnair B757-200 w/winglets equipment sub for the MD-11...quite the beauty. Didn't get that great of shots of a lot, but I think the 4 of us had a nice afternoon out. Check em:

Expect tons more from Gordon(s) and maybe even Ryan? :P

    Ciao ciao

Well as Josh mentioned the weather completely sucked until the afternoon. He also didn't mention that he was in the bathroom when the Finnair 757-200 landed but not to worry for Josh I had his back and ran out and got her. ;)

From our departure spot I still managed to see all the arrivals including my lovely Iberia A340-600. :)

It was great to meet Ryan!

    Please Enjoy!

Josh and I are winning his challenge!

    For Ryan:

    My favorite from today:

    Nice catch:

Gordon what exposure settings do you have your camera set to? A good part of your pics are extremely under exposed, even the ones with light on them.

Great shots. I left right after Etihad. BTW, Who called me yesterday? Someone called my cell regarding spotting and the message was SO fast and impossible to understand that I could not hear the number to call back. They mentioned Josh, so I assume whoever it was was with Josh.

I was hoping to see the white pelican Cargo Italia but of course, duty called and my day spotting was up. BUt it was a good day, got lots done around the house later in the afternoon. The yard is almost looking good and got to grill some steaks.

So besides these...perhaps my favorties of the morning...

    There was ...

I don't know Mario, looks like a 727 gear. That's not the old FedEx 727 that's been parked over by Hangar 17 for ages, is it?

Not sure about the lock, I assume it is to secure a door to prevent access.

Thanks for posting the photos, everyone. Mario, even more nice shots!

Gordon, I really like the glow on the AA 777.

This coming weekend should be better.

I'm guessing it could be Peter Nygards 727-100 that was parked at the General Aviation building.

That's quite possible, Gordon. GA is over in that same area, and I know that's a "Pan Am" blue wall in the background.

On the 727 that was parked over at GA. It was not Peter Nygård(n727pn).

It was VP-BAP. Here is a shot of that 727 from Anet.

Well since you don't seem entirely satisfied Stuart, here are some more shots from yesterday that I neglected to edit but did today.

Some are of planes I already showed but at a different angle:

Thought this was cool, that's a Delta 737-800 in the back round.

I shot more Delta 767-300s yesterday then I have ever in my life!

    And Virgin again!
