Does anyone know why USPS stopped flying their banner on airplanes. Did they own any of those 727-s or DC-8's? Will they buy planes ever again?

Southwest Airlines-"Once it pop's it's time to stop" Southwest Airlines-"Our Shamu's are almost real" Southwest Airlines -"We blow our top real easy" Southwest Airlines- "You can't top us..... really"
I saw a program on American Airlines on MSNBC a few weeks ago. They said that their biggest cargo customer is the US Postal Service.
I'm sure it's much cheaper to use an airline to ship the mail than to use a few 727's.
doubtful they'll ever fly thier own fleet again, it's just cost prohibitive. i've wondereder why they never had any sticker on the fleets of airplanes that do fly us mail, but that would cost too much too. then again, FX's fleet isn't THAT big.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
I think Evergreen Int'l had a few 727's and DC-9 painted in USPS colors years ago.
Fedex is flying a lot(if not most) of USPS load now.
They used to have a hub here in Indianapolis, before FedEx chased them away.
I believe Emory had a contract for much of the USMail some years back. It was usually their 727s and DC-8s I saw -the 727s in the USPS colors (at least as I remember...could be mistaken though..)

Jet blue actually carries alot of the USPS mail to all our destinations... on most flights the forward bin is full of mail.
Most airlines bring mail along, and it's much cheaper for the USPS to do so.
Email me anytime at [email protected].
Mail contracts can be a real pain in the ass. The fines the airlines incure are huge if they mishandle or delay the mail. The regulations for mail carring are something else.
