    Air Canada 777-300ER--WOW!

    Wow, what a great plane!

    I flew on C-FITL YYZ-YUL-YYZ.

Brand new, has that new airplane smell, and is one heck of a bird. The 777 is definitely a huge improvement in Air Canada's long-haul fleet, but is also one of the best 777s out there. It far surpasses the likes of AA, UA, DL, and BA. It narrowly beats AF's 77W (IMHO) and is second only to SQ (but perhaps that's to be expected ;))

AVOD is very nice (I counted 20+ movies, a bunch of TV shows, and 50 music albums where you can create your own music play list) and each 3-pair of seats has two regular power outlets for laptops, iPods, etc. Seat pitch was pretty standard but the seats were extremely comfortable--perhaps the best Y seat I've sat in (and I've had my fair share of Y seats).

    Oh yeah...some pictures.

    Now there's a GE-90!

    Mood lighting

    C class Bar

The only thing I wished AC did was to have a mini juice/drink area for Y like AF does.

You lucky duck! She looks gorgeous.

Do you know what the USB outlet is for? I noticed this on the armrest of my Air France 777-300ER back in November.

Will, there was something wrong with your photos.

They all look very bowl like.
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Gordon, I'm being silly ;) ;) It's a great lens yielding some great images!

    Wow, those screens are awesome.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

Haha--I thought you were serious for a moment!

I'm not to sure what the USB port is for, besides that one could plug something in (memory card reader? iPod/MP3 charger?). Not sure how practical it is. The Air Canada magazine mentioned the USB port, but didn't say anything about it. I wonder if anyone knows anything about it. :P

Gordon, do you remember where on the arm rest the port was on the AF 77W? I only vaguely recall it now that you mention it.

In your pic of the PTV, the USB is on the left side of the screen it looks like.

Sweeeettt shots! Gotta love the wide angle.

Why doesnt someone just plug into the USB and see what happens? Here's my guess...plug in your ipod, and an mp3 will download to it that starts off "Good morning agent Johnson. Your mission, if you choose to accept it..."

I believe it was located in the front of the arm rest right in the center, however this could have been on the 747-400 but I believe it was on the 777-300ER.

Thanks, but I was talking about the Air France 77W, not AC.

    Me envy!

Wow, lucky to be one of the first. And the pics are awesome. That very plane was doing touch and go's here in YOW last week in preparation for the first revenue flight.

When was the last time you saw a cockpit so clean? The G-FITL is one nice plane!

Outstanding Pics! Great job documenting her! Air Canada is really touting the 777 in public.
