Do the cops give you a hard time there?
I may get down to the beach for one of those practice flights, depends on how things are at the OK Corral

During air show week most of the cops are spending as much time looking at the aircraft as we are, usually not a problem as long as you are off the road, and don't have a ladder leaning against the fence.

Nice shots, man, that J-model C-130 looks silly to me, with the extended fuselage. The C17 was the best part, it stopped so short!

Ok, I'm done. Today was definately a "practice" day, hopefully I can do a little better on Friday and Saturday.

Not the best quality shot, but I liked it...

It's off to the beach for this fella...

And I caught this guy removing the #8 from the jet, any idea why? Plane change maybe?

Just like everyone else, I'm having dust spot issues, but the air blower I ordered won't be here until the show is well over. Anybody willing to meet up Friday at Republic to let me borrow one? PM me if its possible.

    Great shots already!!

I love the head-ons from the end of the runway!!

Headed down to Republic Today and shot from the old tower at the American AirPower Museum.

It was amazing to see that C17 stop so quickly!!

Seems like he can stop on a dime and give a nickles change!!

I was a little dissapointed that the Thunderbirds didn't fly in formation over the airport before landing.

It still was a fun afternoon!

GrummanFan, stop by one of the camera shops on 110 for a rocket blower..

So when you guys go there, is it nesecary to bring a ladder?
What time does the flying begin Friday?
Will they fly around that airport or head over to the beach?

Unless you have a smallish lens that you can use to shoot through holes in the fence, a ladder is a must (I didn't have one last year, and I regretted it the whole time, especially when one of the other guys at the fence let me climb up on his for a few shots).

    How tall of a ladder?
Anyone care to fill me in on some spotting areas?
    Thanks :D

The 2 seaters are used as spares, they can peel the numbers off and replace them as necessary.

Just check out my website (link in my signature) for spotting areas at republic. Fences are your standard 8ft chain link with razor wire, in most places.
