The Donald formula is to license his name to anything he can for a fee and a percentage of sales. I am sure it's the same deal here, in other words, it's not really his site. There were recently some 'planted' travel reviews of places such as Dubai, supposedly written by Ivanka, on Yahoo and such that all ended with a plug for this site, so feel free to draw your own conclusions.

And the prices on his search engine don't beat the prices of many other search engines. For example, go to sidestep.com, or even hotels.com and search for a room in Vegas. I did, and these sites turned out to be cheaper than the Donalds'.

The big travel sites like Expedia, Orbitz, and in this case Travelocity, all offer affiliate programs to web site operators, which offer a small commission on each sale. The tools available range from simple buttons that direct you to the main site, to modules that let you integrate all the search functionality from the main site to your own. That seems to be what's going on with GoTrump. If you have an established brand and you get to plug whatever you're doing on TV dozens of times a year, this sort of thing can make a fair amount of cash, though relative to Trump's other businesses, it's probably not even worth his time. Basically it couldn't have cost more than a few thousand bucks to set up this site, so it's safe to say Trump has made his money back and then some, but Donald's optimism at the launch in January 2006 probably isn't holding true: "It's going to be a big company some day -- almost immediately."
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
