Pelican case as a carry on???

I just bought a pelican case 1500. Has anybody used one like this as a carry on? I was thinking It might look kind of suspicious in the x-ray. Its packed full of foam, and photography gear. (my big 50-500mm lens)
Did anybody have any trouble like that?

As long as it fits through the machine and can be X-Rayed it's good. If there is an opaque area the screener can't make out it may be opened.

I've traveled with a relative a number of times who brought along two Pelican cases. No problems (sometimes there was secondary screening, but that was likely due to audio recording equipment in them) except for some strange looks every now and then.

Once I had my camera/lens scanned for radiation or something.
Some people might give me some funny looks b/c of the pelican case.
