It's an amazing piece of machinery. You could barely hear it. I hate to use corny lines but pictures do not do this beautiful airplane any justice. It literally just glided down 22L. Also, it was pretty funny seeing spotter geeks ignoring the PAPD. They ordered us to move our cars but wound up doing traffic control. It was also nice seeing a few of you, even if we didn't meet per-say.

So my guess is when it takes off in a few days the place to meet is Bayswater?

I took a ton of photos; here are two that I did up quickly (and had rejected from JP as "Invalid Hot"):

I might be able to get to NY on Wednesday to see the A380!

What is the A380's plans for Wednesday? What time will it return to NY? How long will it stay at JFK?

    Thanks! :D

    Hi Winglets747 :)
    Thanks for your help!

So it will be at JFK from 10:30AM until 10:00PM on Wednesday? Or is it leaving New York for FRA at 10:30 AM?

Spoke with someone from LH at the press conference today - his schedule shows a media flight on Wednesday departing at 8:45 am and returning at 10:30 am. The 380 is returning to Europe Wednesday night.

Ah thanks. That is some media flight, 1h 45m. I'm jealous I'm not going. Is anyone here going?

I'm gonna try and make it. Am I correct that both 22's will be the runway of choice because of the width? I'm going to hit Bayswater for TO and 148th Ave for landing. I don't think the PAPD will be as forgiving as today about people hanging by Rockaway Blvd. Actually, if anyone knows someone important at Inwood Golf Course that would be very prime location for TO and/or landing.

I'm going to make a last ditch attempt to get on the media flight, but I'm not too confident about it. :|
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I think that only 22L is a 200' wide runway; 22R is 150', so if runway width is a factor 22L will probably be the runway of choice.

Here is one of many from today ;)
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
