Ryan International 757 in AeroSur colors at JFK 1/20/07

This was quite the rare catch at JFK on a very windy and cold morning today. It came in around 10am on 31R, and then later departed around noon to Punta Cana operating as a charter for Phil Am....I mean North American. ;)

Glad you got it, Josh. The ironic part is that this aircraft used to belong to North American (lease, rather), and the reg still has not changed. But it still had the same reg before NAA had it, as it was used by National.

Ryan Air leased it after NAA and then painted it in Aerosur colors for their use.

Any idea what Ryan Air has been doing latley at JFK? That ex-Ghana Airways 757-200 was at JFK a couple of weeks back and I believe it came in from MSP.

The aircraft came back again last night as a return flight.

The last Ryan Air flight a couple weeks ago was unrelated to this.

wow, a rather odd sight, even for JFK

Was this flying as Ryan or as AeroSur? I'd guess as Ryan.

This plane is difficult to catch at MIA since it usually lands before sunrise. Shooting it parked doesn't get any easier, since they park it for the day smack in the middle of the field where it's impossible to get a good shot. Then leaves at night back to Bolivia.

I finally nailed it during the MIA ramp tour but they parked the damn bus way too close! and we had to stay near the bus as if we were little kids... :/

It was flying as North American, hired by Ryan Air. The AeroSur titles were nothing more than just that.

Flight trackers are showing this aircraft coming back at 7am Monday morning and leaving at 9am. I wonder if it's North American again.

Ah, that makes sense. It was bitter cold and the aircraft were flying into a very strong wind this morning - result - they were turning remarkably early off 31L. Leaving HoBe against the sun. I wouldn't have known this one if I had seen it :(
