    Jet crash near St. Petersburg kills two

    MOSCOW, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- Two people died in the blast of a Yak-52 sports plane near St. Petersburg on Saturday, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.

    The blast went off at 14:20 Moscow time (0920 GMT) in the Vsevolzhsky district of the Leningrad region, 25 kilometers away from Petersburg.

    "The Yak-52 exploded in the air above a stadium in the settlement Nizhniye Oselki," the information department of the Ministry was quoted by the Itar-Tass news agency as saying. Two crew members died in the blast.

    According to preliminary information, no victims and destruction sustained on the land. A special committee is investigating the cause of the accident.

    how is a yak-52 a jet?
    it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
