    HDR, anyone else play?

I have been stuck on this method of photography for the last week and I
am learning so much so fast. I do not think I will ever take night shots
without this method. I am amazed at the results and inspired to go out
    an just shoot anything.
The other night I went to the airport and did a few maximum exposure brackets with my camera

I use AEB in the menu's and set it to take 3 shots...
1st shot at 0 exposure comp
2nd shot at -2 exposure comp
3rd shot at +2 exposure comp

With these 3 images I can put together a HDR (High Dynamic Range)
photo that will let me read the tire maker off the black tires of an aircraft
yet not have any part of the shot overexposed. It is AMAZING to just
take some shots around the house..... Here is a good example of a shot
that is not possible without the HDR (or massive grain with photoshop).
Keep the detail in the dark areas but do not overexpose the flame badly...

1 shot from the camera at proper exposure

    3 shot HDR image

How do you put them together?
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

I use a program called Photomatrix but there is sofware in the newer
Photoshop CS2. Normally, the photos look like ass because it is a high
dynamic range which means your little histogram feels like it is now 3
times the size it was with almost no chance of having any pixels blown out
or underexposed. You have incredible detail and the ability to alter the
photo to make it really pop but in any way you like.

Here is a edited HDR shot from the other night....I left it big so you can
    see all the details....

If I was going to use the shot, I would have altered it for more contrast.

How would you feel if you were in this cockpit and realized
that someone stole your rudder pedals???

I like the first two in that last set. Reminds me of these pics I took in New Hampshire. It was during the Harvest Moon, so it was extra bright.

    Check your PM box
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

Yeah I just recently discovered HDR myself, its really addicting. I use Photomatix as well. I was lucky enough to get an HDR shot on jetphotos not to long ago.
