I'm a fan of that oil paint effect Manny, it looks pretty cool when done right.

Dennis and John, great job, especially that Hornet shot.

Kris, not sure if it's the look you were going for, but all three suffer from halos around the subject aircraft.
It might be your look, but they are not for me. No offense.

You killed your pictures.... HDR is not an easy processing....

I have thousands of pictures in my collection, I have hundrets of HDRs in my collection and maybe only 10 acceptable and maybe 2-3 not bad....

One of the best I have

You need time and lots of practice before you'll find the way to process your pictures to HDR pictures.... I follow one very important rule... Use HDR technique to fix you bad pictures, do no try to make your good pictures look better.... most likely you you'll mess something up :)

Practice, practice.... practice.... watching histogram, waiting for good moment to take pictures, luck, luck, luck and practice, and then practice again... and you can start your HDR portfolio :)

The only good HDRs in my portfolio you can find here:

I know sorry about the poorness of the "HDRs" still trying to get the hold of it. No offense taken.

Try dialing back on the strength, that usually helps counteract some of the halo issues. The hardest time you are going to have is that these are single shot "HDR's" No matter how hard you try, they almost always wind up with halos that cannot be corrected. You will have a lot more success on static images, as you are on the right path. It just takes practice.
