Britney Spears Files for Divorce

A petition for divorce was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court by Spears, who cited "irreconcilable differences." She asked for full custody of their children, Sean Preston, 1, and 2-month-old Jayden James, with visitation granted to Federline, according to TMZ.com. Sources told the Web site a "string of events" caused the separation. The Web site also obtained a copy of the legal papers.

According to TMZ, Britney has a hefty pre-nuptial agreement, and she waived her right to spousal support. She also reportedly asked that she and Federline each pay their own legal fees.

The date of separation was given as Monday, Nov. 6, 2006. The couple married in September of 2004.

Also Monday, Spears appeared as a surprise guest on the Late Night With David Letterman, with a surprisingly slim figure according to TMZ.com.

Spears has hired celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, who represented Angelina Jolie, Nick Lachey and Kiefer Sutherland.

I saw him this weekend at Marquee (club in NYC) drinking with a bunch of beautiful women, I wouldn't be surprised if he's cheated on Britney before.
