"Inside American Airlines" - TV tonight

Tonight, from 9pm - 11pm, CNBC is broadcasting "Inside American Airlines: A Week In The Life" From the review I saw, it sounds like a pretty good show. It gives a lot of facts & figures about the airline, but puts it in perspective and looks to well done. I guess I'll have to thave the VCR rolling for this one, while cheering on a Mets win.

    Thats CNBC for you.

Pretty good so far. They just outlines all the fares in a fllight.... and We were wodnered what most of the USA was wondering , as they watched...."How the hell did somone nail a $50 fare from DFW to Hartford?!

i watched it, and liked it. but think it should go into more details on some things, like the maintenance and and cargo; and luggage operations. i always what to know how that works.

Interesting program - I half watched during breaks in the Met game, and I'll have to watch the tape later, but I enjoyed it. That's the kind of thing I wished A&E did with their "Airline" show about SWA.

i watched airline on A&E a few, and i just don't get it. what is the point? most of what i saw was people who had a little to much to drink at the bar and are not let on the plane, and then complain about it for 5 hours until they are sober and can get on the next plane. also i think it puts SWA in a really bad light.

Yes, after 3 episodes, I realized that AIRLINE was the very same show each week. While WN is a good product, it left with with the impression that the people that fly WN are total whackos. I realize that not the case but that was underlying theme of the show.

Now....having watched the AA show last night, I think Arpey did a great job. He seemed to be honest and not skirt the issues. I like the guy but can't agree with CEOs running off with killer bonuses while their labor takes all the cuts.

I never heard of the interviewer Greenberg but he is a bit of a manipulative person. Actually, he was a jerk. Instead of learning the deal, he'd antagonize and I didnt gain anything from that showboating.

In comparing the fares, he failed to point not hte prices but how they are structured. For instance, some of those $2300 fares on the JFK-LAX were connections to international flights. But it was an eye opener to see that AA 1, the flagship route, is actaully a bit of a loss leader with only $200 profit.

I'm glad AA opened up to it. My understanding was they had no say in what would be portrayed and in the editing process, so it was open game and in that sense AA took it on the chin. Kudos to them.

Also like that they spent some time in TUL. One of my fav places on earth.

    OKLAHOMA! LOL
