How much to charge for picture in television news program?

I was contacted by a television news program that wants to use a picture briefly in one of their segments. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how much, if anything, I should charge? I can't seem to find any suggestions about this particular type of photo use (i.e., television news program) on internet sources such as photographersindex.com. Please let me know ASAP if you have any insight, as the segment is being put together as I type. Thanks.

Looks like my response is already running late for you. :-/

I'd go with a straight $100 for this. It's a fast usage, only appearing for a couple seconds probably.

Just make sure that you tell them it's for one time usage. Otherwise you'll end up seeing your pic on there every time there's a news story.

Congats Josh! Let us know how it turns out.
