United Nations VIP Week2006 summary. Text and Photos!

Here is my summary of United Nations VIP Week:
The first half of the spotting proved to be very stagnant, yielding very few new planes. The experience was morbidly depressing, and it was difficult to be out there. Fortunately, after the 61st UN General Assembly ended, and planes started coming back, things started looking up. The 3 planes that were the big catches of the 61st session were the Sudanese IL-62, Namibian Falcon 900 and the Venezuelan A319. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of "Old School" aircraft like 707s, TU-154s, 727s,etc. that appeared to be absent this time around. However, the Sudanese IL-62 made up for a lot of that.
I compile a list every year of the planes I took pictures of. I suggest you start with the following links that show what was seen on each day, and then check out the photographs.

    Please note the following:
I used previous VIP week shots of aircraft from South African Senegal, Thailand, Germany, Zimbabwe, Venezuela (737-200) and Pakistan as my previous shots of those were better. These 7 A/C were also visitors in 2005.

    Enjoy,
    Senga Butts

Couple of shots that I just loved:

You got some amazing shots there of the Polish TU-154 at SWF!
The Aerolines 747-200 at JFK looks amazing!
    Love the Brunei 767-200!
    The Qatar A340-500!
    The Bahrain 747-400!

    Senga,

you have waaay too much time on your hands and frankly, you are crazy. But with shots like those, I can only wish that I were in your position, lol. Amazing work as usual buddy, maybe next year I'll join you in the insanity! :)

    Greets,

P.S.: Ever since you were down here numerous to try to bag the LAB 727 that would somehow never show up, it's been coming in ON TIME every Monday. :)
