Since Fred had to work tonight, I took Mario along for some shooting in Brooklyn. There were decidely more people out watching and shooting.

As the sun was setting and the Tribute of Lights came on, clouds hanging over downtown were illuminated by the light:

The streak of white and green light under the bridge are the lights of an NYPD helicopter which flew south down the river, and passed under both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges:

The view from further back in the park - in the lower right is the the spot where we were shooting from.

The Brooklyn tower of the Manhattan Bridge:

We headed further down river, to the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge - this was the view most of the TV news crews were using.

The Empire State Building was bathed in Red, White and Blue:

Moonrise over the Williamsburg Bridge - the lights of an airliner landing at LGA can be seen:

Crap, that is what I was waiting for all year Moose!!! YOU NAILED IT!

I only got a crappy shot or two of the towers of light with the FRG controll
tower in the same shot. Almost really stressed my marrage to night!
Glad I did not because nothing beats your shots!!! WOW!

Great shots Moose! I'm glad we got to do it!

I havent had a chance yet to look through anything. Got home, did a few chores and conked out.

What a strong night though. So many people were out there with Cameras and tripods, it was like a B+H convention out there.

Watching the NYPD chopper go under the Brooklyn bridge was a nice treat.

But the most interesting catch of the night was the Buddish Monk who was sitting at the pier, chanting into his mobile phone. If that doesnt scream progress, I don't know what does!
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

moose, great shots... i decided to use my local park since it's an angle not eveyone is familiar with. just wish it was still showing up...
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
