Spotting Gathering For Public Access TV Show

I've been contacted by a gentleman that produces public access TV who wants to do a 10 minute piece on our hobby. Most of it would be him filming us in action, performing a couple of interviews, and the now typical thing for us when being covered by the media *yawn*. lol

This producer airs one show each month in Queens, usually a profile about a local feature such as a park, historical site, local group or event. LAst week's episode was about the Jamaica El Train.

I haven't decided when, but I assume on an upcoming Saturday. On LGA's runway construction schedule, I see that 13/31 will be closed on July 15, which would mean the Planeview would be the place to be, and a good place for this kind of event (close to traffic, green, open, legal, etc.)

Let me know your thoughts guys.

That sounds like a great idea, Phil, hopefully one more opportunity for us to present our hobby in a favorable light. I like your thoughts about LGA on 7/15, weather permitting. Should make for some great visuals, and like you say, accessible and legal. I should be available that day.

As long as the weather looks good, I should be able to get myself out there. Maybe I'll actually manage to meet some of you this time!

putting it in my phone now, going to work on getting the day off.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

    Awesome guys. :)

I've emailed the producer about the date, and I also invited him to the picnic. I'm awaiting a response and will let you know if we are a go for July 15.

Thanks for being willing to get involved in this.

    Phil,

Any news on this Saturday yet? Long-range forecast looks like a decent morning. Although with chance of T-storms Fri & Sat, it may be pretty-hazy.

The producer can only be there from 8-9am, so I hope you folks can make it out there that early.

I have to take Mel to a doctor's appointment in the early afternoon, so we'll try to make as much of the morning as possible. :)

Meh... sucks that it's between 8-9. It would mean my dad and I would have to get up at 5:30 on Saturday for the drive.

Not sure if I can make it for the interview but I know my dad and I planned on going down anyway to JFK, I got my new lens and I'm dying to use it for banking shots!

    Anybody thinking of JFK afterwards?

Since I'll already be out (trudging out from Jersey that day), I may head over to JFK if I don't feel like just falling asleep from being up. Any idea where you're going to be, in case I should head over and want to meet up with you?
