I'm sure she'll fly in on Fri the 23rd. Ought to make another fun weekend.
Strange time of year though, no holiday attached to it.

Great post Chris. I will go shoot her but I am not paying to fly her. That money is better used toward my D200!

corrosive tests BADLY and needed LOTS of TLC!!!

Here is a shot I took of her 2 years ago!

I hope the fare for the ride includes a parachute.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

thats pretty steep we only charge 400 bucks for the B-17,which should be out Ny way this summer, along with the C-47 at TEB this August. Unfortunately engine problems are the bane of Warbirds existence, and the B-29s Wright engines are not the most reliable round engines out there.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!

The difference between a B-17 and the 29 is that there are lots of
flightworthy 17's out there. I took a trip on the B-17 Aluminum Overcast
a few years back and you can see MANY shots of my adventure here
    http://www.fromtheflightdeck.com/Sto...ng17/FMb17.htm .
The B-29 was unable to take fare passengers up until this year due to the
insurance and the Navy. Yes, the Navy is the owner because it was on a
bombing range until it was rescued and restored. The aircraft cost many
times more to fix than a B-17 because there are so few of this type and
    only one Flyable.

Lets see if anyone can spot waldo!

its also a lot less mechanically reliable than the B-17, always was,the B-29 is a great ship, but I will take the belle of the 8th AF any day, besides ,the Fortress has a tailwheel !
