    BWI Recap (3/19)

Well if you thought JFK had a lot of jetBlue go to BWI, my god WN owns the damn airport. However Alex, Rafal, and I were lucky to catch some great birds today which made the trip even more worthwhile. Yes I did spend the day with Alex so your pitty is much appreciated. Seriously it was great to finally meet him, I think its great when we can meet another member of our community, we had a great day, it was alot of fun and as always it was great to see Rafal again.

Tommy, great shots as we have all come to expect ! That DC-8-62 has quite a history and was one of three -62's operated by Northeastern and I actually flew on her ISP-FLL in 1984 when she was OY-KTE "Katy".

    Hey All,

It was nice meeting Tommy (again) and Alex for the first time. Despite cold wind we've got some great stuff. Yesterday was one of my best days at BWI since I started shooting there in 1998.
Tommy missed sexiest arrival of the day :) Icelandair 757 with WINGLETS :)
Josh, Brian - again I'm very sorry that I didn't come to BWI on Saturday. Believe me, I like both of you - but I like even more Monarch 757-200 with Starquest Expedition titles :) You have to take rain check for next time.

And here are some of my shots from yesterday :)

I forgot to add. Yesterday Tommy was in the 'Southwest mode' He was shooting every single WN that arrived (maybe he let one fly by).
On the last picture you can see Alex kneeling (in the distance from Tommy) - he was shooting like that because he was affraid that Tommy will hit him with his lens :D

Alex, read the instructions and next time wear warmer clothes :D

    Yesterday was definately fun :)

All right, my turn to post.

It was great to finally meet Tom after all this time. Met him at BWI, and then rented a car and went out to the spot where we later met up with Rafal (also great to meet you as well.)

I had an amazing time and this was my first "official" spotting trip, so to speak as I was just telling tom last night. I had a great time shooting and got some great tips from tom and rafal. My pics came out good, not sure if they are uploadable but I am extremely pleased with them!

Rafal-don't know if you heard the yelling from the BWI terminal when we saw the icelandair 757 land, hahaha we saw it taxi by and we went RUNNING down the terminal to try and catch it, no such luck. Also saw Silver One taxi by too, which let out a "damn it" from me too.

Yes, good picture of me kneeling hahaha. I know how tough tom can be, didnt wanna risk getting smacked by that huge lens of his hahaha.

I will upload my pics tonite if I can.

These are originals, and I have to do alot of editing but just to show a few shots of mine.

    Delta Coming In

UAL 757 as well, I love shooting the 757's.

    NWA DC9

Too bad it wasn't an MD90, man I sure love those...Tom seemed disappointed too..

and finally the highlite of the day.......

I just recopy and cut to show the basic gist of it, these are NOT final copies. Only original, I have alot of work to work on, I realize, but just decided to show my pics.

Thats right, I did. I didn't care much to get good shots of anything, just point, click and shoot literally and I had a picture. But after this trip and actually being INVOLVED with people who do the same thing and show the same interest, it really has peaked my interest and enthusiam to try to take photos. The downside is i live so far away from a major airport (STL, closest at 2 hrs). But seeing the excitment of Tom and Rafal yell and shout at certain planes coming in, got me just as excited. It was a great atmosphere, friends, aviation buddies and planes, and cameras. now all tom needed was the beer and he'd be set

Great time for sure. And if anyone swings by STL I will try and come up too and spot.
