    Blizzard Photos

The Non-Aviation photo thread is getting a bit too big, and Tommy's thread is in the wrong forum. :)

Anyway, here're a few shots I just took around the block around 11:30pm.

^Brian took this photo of Booth Street after the Blizzard.

^Our car, a 2005 Nissan Maxima. Or is it?

    ^My favorite.

    ^My apartment building.

Earlier in the day, I broke out the elbow grease and offered my services in exchange for a little cash. My marketing jingle, if you will...

    Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
I'd like to shovel your sidewalk
How much are you willing to pay?

Well hey, some guy laid down $50 for me to do his driveway and front sidewalk!

Oh, and screw the public school system.

Cool shots Futt, my block in the Bronx look's very similar, except I think we might have a few more inches. And your 05 Maxima looks almost like my 97 Maxima, when I went to dig it out yesterday afternoon I was in snow almost to my waist (I am 6 feet tall) because of the plowing ! Any problems with your camera in last night's cold temps ?

Be safe fellow New Yorkers !

    Cheers

Wow, The motion blur of the plow is cool but the first image is the real winner to me!!! It really gives you a feel of how bad the storm really was. Nice Shots
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

Ok...these were taken on a ****ty Nikon Coolpix last night....and I am not on my computer, so I can't even attempt to make them look halfway decent in Photoshop. You get the point though. (and thank god for Phil)

When the snow finally stopped...this was my poor car:

...and my street (good job plows! pshhhhh):

Yay for Phil! (who looks like a ghost in this shot) My car, emerging:

I had about 18" in Syosset - fortunately, my neighbor has a honkin' big snow blower, and lets me use it.

Here's the back yard, from the second floor window:

    And here's the mighty Stratus:

I guess I spent a little more than an hour between the snow blower and cleaning off the cars.

Let's hear it for global warming! :P
