The sun, the beach, and planes.

Ok so yesterday i went to the fire island lighthouse with my girlfriend. To grab some good sunset, lighthouse, deer pictures. While there some arrivals to JFK were flying over, plus some GA flying along the beach... i got some good planes

First off.. A bare metal Cessna which ive never seen before NC72278

Then the Finnair MD-11 with Santa p/s

Then there was a EL AL 747 i believe the reg. was 4X-ELC which was coming from LLGB. First passed over at 15:36 then passed over again at 15:44 and then passed over again at 15:55.. then it never passed over again. Watching the tracker looked like every plane going into JFK was in a holding pattern.

wow very cool Chris, I hope you paid attention to your girlfriend as much as you paid attention to the planes, lol.

I love that walk over there on F.I, you can get such great wild life shots and the lighthouse itself makes for such a great subject. I generally go over to Talisman beach during the summer on F.I and I've said it before and I'll say it again Fire Island is simply the greatest most beautiful place on earth.
