    Spotting at College of Aero???

    Does anyone know anywway or have tried to get up to the "control tower" at the college by planeview park? it looks to have a great view of LGA
    Overheard on JFK TOWER - S Turns are fine, U-Turns are bad....

    I have been up there once, and it's pretty nice for shots, although the glass is fairly tinted.

    But, it's usually hard to get up there unless you're a student. And, the security guards usually don't let you take pictures (they can watch what you're doing via video camera security). I was just lucky the one time, I guess. I wouldn't try to go up there unless you know someone who can take you up there.

    Because of security and the glass I have found it a better place to watch than photograph. I have not tried in about a year, one of the nice perks
    is the FAA Tower freg is on the PA system.

    the tower is off limits to anyone but students these days. anyway, shooting from up there isn't all to easy and it draws a lot of attention. i was lucky enough to get to know the guards which in turn let me take some shots. nothing spectacular though, the glass is always dirty.

    by the way, the view is spectacular when they depart 22....
    it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
