Photoshop, How far is too far?

Original photo is dark, color does not pop and looks bland

Ahhhh, Looking good.....If it wasn't for that Ficukn Pole!

Much better.....but the only thing that keeps this from being a truly great photo is that aircraft in the backround!

Very cool, I wonder if I can get a very high hit count! HHHMMMMM

    Is this wrong?

    Is this wrong?
Well, it depends (says the man who just got out of an ethics training class  ).

If this is for your own personal collection, it's fine. I have a shot of a KC-135
from the McGuire Open House this summer that I have been using on & off
for my desktop. I Photoshopped out the crowd and the hot dog cart from
behind the a/c, and it's a pleasant picture on my PC. Would I upload it to
    a.net or jetphotos? No.

That's not to say if someone wanted a copy, and knew I had worked on it, I
wouldn't give it to them, but I wouldn't pass it off as an original depiction of
    the view.

it looks like the engine has a dent in it on the really blown up picture but know that everyone knows it's been "shopped upon" or "flagged" we're gonna know it's not real but dang,! how do you remove objects from a pic and make it look like it was never there?
    Overlapping?

Depends on what you're doing with the photo. For Airliners.net and JetPhotos....it's too much.

    Otherwise, it's nice.

I like this answer but there are sooo many Grey areas...

I believe that Hue, Saturation, Levels, and sharpening is ok, but when
does it really become wrong? I do not go any further than that unless it
is going to be uploaded as a "Photoshop".

Now what about removing Sensor dust and dead or hot pixels and night
time lens flares? That is altering the photo or just touching it up?
Removing whiteheads in a high school yearbook? a couple of stray
birds? Whoops......OVER THE LINE NOW, but who makes the line?

I know people that think if you crop the photo, you are altering it and
they feel that any image should never be cropped....I think they are on
crack but that is me..... so were is the line?

A funny post, Yes. But a really valid question.....When is it too far?

Oh, and thanks for taking this post WAAAYYYY to seriously, it made me
    think!
