    ORD-JFK diversions

I'm currently waiting for my gf to arrive from ORD and just learned that her flight AA342 and at least 2 other flights scheduled to fly ORD-LGA this evening are being diverted to JFK.
    AA342 is a MD80
    UA694 is a 737-300
    UA836 is an A320

Should make for some interesting (rare) shots at JFK as well as ferry flights into LGA tomorrow.

ISP Pilot, LGA has a midnight construction curfew 7 days a week from May to October (been going for at least 10 years) and when delayed flights are due in after mid-night they usually divert to other nearby airports. The curfew is often extended till 0100 or 0200 when NYC airspace has bad weather/ATC delays that would cause 20-50 flights to divert or cancel but when one airport like ORD has delays that in this case affected three flights the curfew is usually not extended. Something I tell all my friends is don't book flights to LGA that arrive after 2300L during the curfew so they can avoid what happened to your GF which is very common. Keep in mind the airlines would never tell you this, they want your $ dollars $
