    Honkin' Big New Lens

After talking to a bunch of you folks here, as well as some of the photo guys at work, I made the pilgrimage in to B&H on Sunday and picked myself up the Canon 100-400mm IS lens. Wow, is this thing nice! Since it was a nice day, and there wasn't much of a crowd, I headed over to the Empire State Building (haven't been up there since I was a kid) and spent over an hour playing with it. Looks like I'll be working on photos instead of work this afternoon :D

Thanks for all the great advice guys!

You know, I looked at that one (on-line, at least) and it had good, but a few mixed, reviews. After talking to the photo guys here at Newsday, they all said my best bet was to stick with the Canon stuff, that while it's a bit more expensive, in the long run I would be happy I went with the Canon.

I agree that sticking to Canon is the way to go if you're willing to dish out a few more bucks.
