    Sunday's LGA Baseball Charters

With the Yankees/Royals 4 game series at the Stadium nearing the end thought I would check for their Charter Flights. Looks like Midwest is bringing in a MD-81 to take the Royals home to MCI. The Yankees have a NW 757 to take them to BFI. The Mets will probably arrive JFK on Delta sometime overnight due to the LGA curfew !

    That's cool stuff.

I must say though, regardless of the curfew, I've seen sports charters come in during the wee hours of the curfew. I know the Yankees brought in a CO 752 to LGA on a charter two years ago.

A couple of interesting notes on today's charters. NW at LGA has only two gates that are 757 compatible. One had a delayed MSP 757 on it, the other the Yankees Charter. Flt 1109, a third 757 landed, already close to two hours late from DTW (MTC) and had no gate. The Team arrived much later than expected so Flt 1109 waited an almost unbelievable 74 mins for the gate to open and finally blocked in at 1829, 3 hours and 4 mins late, ouch. As NW 9813 the Yankees Charter taxied out to 13 on Bravo the Midwest MD80 with the Royals onboard went screaming down 13. When it was the Yankees turn I expected a long by 757 standards takeoff roll for the flight to BFI in SEA. But the 757 never fails to amaze me, she was airborne exactly at the 4000 foot marker on 13, simply amazing !
