    Atlantic City Airshow

I figured I'd bring it up to you guys now so you could make some planning... the show's on the beach..err...down the shore along the Atlantic City Boardwalk (photography will be difficult since, well, just look at a map and you'll understand!).

    Wednesday August 31, 2005

Demonstration teams include the USAF Thunderbirds, US Army Golden Knights, US Army SOC Black Daggers.

Military hardware include an A-10 demo, F-15 demo, Harrier demo, USCG HH-60 and HH-65 Search and Rescue demo, C-5 flyby, C-130 flyby, F-16 flyby, KC-135 flyby, HC-130 flyby, HU-25 flyby, and T-1/T-6A/T-38 flybys. The Canadians are represented with a CH-146 Griffon helicopter demonstration. Other flybys include the FAA's Convair 340 and the Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield Blimp of NJ.

Aerobatic performances by Dale "Snort" Snodgrass in the F-86, Jim Beasley and Ed Shipley flying formation aerobatics in two P-51s, Kirby Chambliss in the Red Bull Edge 540, Michael Hunter flying a Flight for Diabetes Lazer 230, and John Klatt in an ANG-sponsored Staudacher S-300D. The Vultures will still be present, even though they had lost two members in an accident a couple weeks ago. A Heritage Flight will be flown by Snort and Beasley in the F-86 and P-51, respectively, with the A-10 and F-15 in formation with the classics. Announcer is Gordon Bowman-Jones.

It's a FREE show, although you may have to pay to park, depending on where you decide to park. Closest casinos to show center include Trump Plaza and Caesars. Show center is on the waterfront by Boardwalk Hall and Florida Avenue. Show will be broadcasted live over 1400 AM so you might want to bring a radio.

wow... something is going to happen on my day off!! sweet!!

i'd love to go but in all seriousness i doubt that i'll even be able to go to this show. that's ok in my book though, since i'll be working at the exact same airshow in KSNS in Oct.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.

Interesting that they're having the T-1 and T-6 do flybys...

Anyway, I won't be there, but enjoy!
