    Congrats Futt!

I looks on Anet today and saw the Most Popular of the Last 24 Hours and saw a dark blue engine, a winglet and some houses and I thought "Oh, ATA 738 at Midway!"

I opened it up and enjoyed the shot very much. I then scrolled down and saw the name of one Brian Futterman.

    Congrats, kiddo. Nice shot.

I second that, Nice Shot Futt, it's amazing how popular those wing-view shots are. You need to do
some more flying so we can see more shots like this out of your 20D.

Wow, I knew the shot was doing well but wasn't expecting the crust to pop out of my eyes this morning when I turned the computer on...haha

I'm happy. Thanks a lot, I'm glad you guys (and 11,000+ other people) like it. Somebody actually loved it SO much they decided to send me an email:

    Brian,

While you have produced a few excellent shots, it is not your right to go ahead and make fun of the poorer people in the country as seen in your discription for photo 881315. Would you rather have them homeless and running up to your back porch than living in that house?

Next time, take a few moments and think about how your writing may influence your viewers.

    Sincerely,

    XXXXXX XXXXX

Yeah, I didn't notice your caption.

Kinda looks like the houses you see on the rwy 31 approach to LGA. Oh, wait, that's where I live!

Brian, what was your reply to that person? You did say that you were serious about it being prime real estate becuase you would like to live under the approach to the planes, right?

It should be noted that the area around Midway is often regarded to be a bad neighborhood, so I guess I can understand why the person though to say that to you. He/she is obviously not much of an enthusiast if they can't realize that.

My first reply was the following:

    XXXXXX,

I'm appalled, even amazed, at the fact that you can draw such a
conclusion from my remark in photo 881315.

Your assumption that I was disparaging homeless people is unfounded
and quite offensive. I suggest you stop accusing me of "making fun of
the poorer people in the country" and acknowledge the fact that I was
noting the neighborhood's proximity to the airport.

I, as an aviation enthusiast, would consider a house with planes
flying low and loud overhead to be "P-R-I-M-E real estate". I'm
baffled as to where I came off as being rude to our nation's
    poverty-stricken citizens.

You've jumped to one too many conclusions as far as I'm concerned, but
I by all means welcome further dialogue with you.

    Brian Futterman
However, I recieved further messages with comments like, "Keep in mind that when I made the conclusion, I was running of the fact that you received $2700 worth of camera equipment for free from your parents" and "I bet you run your 20d in auto all the time. Yeah? What is aperture? Shutter speed? Exposure composition? ISO? Huh? So what is the story about your camera if your parents didn't buy it for you?"

I took a lot of it personally...the obnoxious attitude and conviction that what they believed to be fact was fact really pissed me off from the get-go.

Brian, even though your caption drew attention from some jerk I am sure you will in time get positive ones
from other friendlier people from future photo's so keep on writing ! I liked it !
