Olympic 747 Coming to JFK

I heard Olympic has leased a 747 in order to help take care of voerfow from their A340 flights and will be putting it on the routes as needed on occasion.

It's either a -100 or a -200.

I think the first flight with this will be Tuesday, but that's not definite.

Reviving an older thread, as there have been some developments.

We had a little fake out today, as three flight trackers said that today's afternoon Olympic departure was a 747, which turned out to be false. It was the typical A340-300.

After the whole mess, I made a call to a friend of mine and he told me what he knows of the Olympic 747 that they leased.

Olympic usually adds a second flight in the summer to handle increased yields, and this year they are seeing a little more of a swell still from last year's Olympics. This is why they leased the 747.

He does not know what type it is yet, but the plane is about 25 years old, is in Olympic colors and came from an airline in Asia.

I'm looking into finding out more about this, so I'll keep you posted.
