Hello, I'm just curious. Who here got to go up to Windows of the World before 9/11? It was the restaurant on top of each of the towers. Or at least one of them.
I went up once but don't really remember it.

The last time I went up there for lunch was in August 2001. It was a restaurant and bar. On a clear day, the view was awesome. I forget which tower it was in...I wanna say the north tower, but I'm not entirely sure.
I wish I had, but unfortunately not. I was on the roof a few times when I was little, I need to find the pictures. :(
Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9
That is where I proposed to my wife. It was expensive, but well worth it! It was in the opposite tower as the observation deck.
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".
I had dinner up there quite a few times. A remarkable restaurant, that is still sorely missed.
never made it to the restaurant, but i did visit the observation deck a few times. i had lunch between the two towers amny times though, as i used to be assigned to ground zero crew, FDNY-EMS.
it is mathematically impossible for either hummingbirds, or helicopters to fly. fortunately, neither are aware of this.
I hate to say that I never made it up in the Towers, with all the times I've been into the city. Back in May 2001, I was downtown for a meeting, and afterwards thought about heading there, since it was a nice day and I didn't have anything pressing to do. Instead I decided to head home. Since I was attending these meetings every couple of months, I thought I would visit the Towers my next time in, thinking to myself "it's not like they're going anywhere" (I swear to God!) Our next meeting was scheduled for September 13. Obviously, I never got there.

I took my former g/f there for dinner around '99. The food was beyond gourmet and the looking at NYC at night from that height was breathtaking. In fact the only time/s I have seen a better view is during my return flights to JFK from 15,000+ ft at night.. Then again the LGA approach over the Hudson and City Island at night ain't so bad either.
Spotters have been Homeland Security before HS was a glimmer in the president's eye.
i was in my moms stomach when my parents went up there hehe did that count?
i do have pics of it from my parents when they went. very nice to look at, even with the old PAN AM building as well.

Been up there a few times to eat, great restaurant, even greater views. The last time I was up there, was in 1998 for my 13th b'day. I was supposed to go to a Bar'Mitzvah there a few weeks after the attacks...
