    Fleet Week

With Fleet Week upon us, I'd like to try to get down to Manhattan and take a tour of some of the ships if that's possible (I've heard it is). Can anyone tell me whether there are any aircraft carriers in town, and, if so, whether you can tour them (i.e., see the airplanes)? What's the best time to go do this?

    Thanks...

    Josh

I'm not really sure. I saw a few around W46. But I was just there to hook up with sailors. Didn't really notice the boats.

I headed over there this evening, too late to do any tours though. They were all docked just north of the Intrepid at the cruise ship terminal. Couldn't see much because they had fencing and police checkpoints and soldiers with machine guns.

Someone ordered pizzas to one of the ships! It must be a blast for those guys to dock in NY.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.
I trust you are not in too much distress. —Captain Eric Moody, British Airways Flight 9

NOW THAT IS GREAT!!!! Thanks for posting that!
The three most common expressions in aviation are, "Why is it doing that?", "Where are we?" and "Oh Crap".

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Vodkagirl is awesome, I love it.

I get an instant message while I'm sleeping from her saying how unpatriotic she felt having brougth home a BRITSH ROYAL Navy guy as opposed to an American.

I'm tempted to create a "post of the month" feature and give that one to the month of June!
