Thanks Mark... that shot is soft unfortunately I guess it was heat shimmer or what not... but I just adore that angle. Only way to get that shot any other way would be to have a spot closer to the ground and a quicker turn... or an air to air situation LOL.

Nice shots Manny. Definitely just made up my mind for me if they are using the 4s next time I come down. If they are, I am definitely focusing on departures after seeing those angles. Were you up on the mounds or on the other end of the soccer field for those shots?

I love how the Mounds offer great angles for departures. Now if I could learn how to shoot...

    Great set Manny.

Popped in after work and here are some of mine. Manny.....great catch on the PSA and was that cat spotting (probably spotting for field mice)?. The late afternoon light was fantastic, unfortunately I couldn't stay that long.

    Thanks guys...

Yes, the cat is a regular but I had not seen her in a while. 'Twas nice to see our friend.

I was in my car by the telephone pole at the end of the wooden fence to the field. When something interesting took off (and if they were using the full length of the runway) I'd get out and move to the sidewalk by the fence (to avoid the heat of the car) and shoot and sneak back in.

I was in my work suit and dress shoes so I was not about to head into the mounds hahaha.

The PSa was a surprise as I did not look for it by the BAW terminal 7 :-( and all the small guys were above me. I would have used Woodmere Park had I known she was around.

Great stuff, as always! I presume the departure shots were taken from Woodmere Park, and not the Mounds (to clarify, for those who may be confused)?

Or, it could be that I'm wrong, which is not uncommon...though I've never seen that angle from the Mounds.

It was a truly gorgeous day yesterday. I wish I could have been out spotting all day. On the bright side........there will be plenty of opportunities..........the weather is getting warmer, days are longer, and a bunch of vacation days on tap.

I cannot wait for the warmer and longer days to get here so I can head down again. I've been checking the arrivals schedules into JFK lately to find out what I can see once it starts staying light later. Does anything really change depending on the seasons there in NYC. What I mean is, do the flight times, or frequency change during spring and summer, etc for the over seas flights?
