It's been a long while since I have had any motivation to do any photography related to aviation - until yesterday. Vice President Biden was making a visit to Houston, and the C-17 with his motorcade arrived at HOU on Monday afternoon. I was able to get some shots of it yesterday evening at sunset. Thankfully, the crappy weather we had cleared up just enough to let the sun peek out at the perfect time during sunset. The result was some amazing colors in the sky, which complimented the dull grey fuselage of cargo jet. I shall now retire back in to my plane spotting hibernation
The sunset was absolutely stunning. This image is just one single RAW file. Zero processing was done to enhance that sky. I just used luminance masks to tone the highlights down, bring out shadows in both dark and midtone areas. Sunset colors like these are few and far between.
I had to get a random night shot since I was already out on the ramp.
