FYI- the reason why the Hawkeye flew over the Grumman facility in Bethpage
yesterday was because it was celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the E-2A
Hawkeye's maiden flight over the Bethpage skies back on October 21, 1960 !!!

Here's the Press Release link I saw on ASB.TV from Naval Air Systems Command:

Govt helo Omaha 43 was working west of FRG last night for about 40 minutes or so. They were orbiting at 2000 feet. Came in to Sheltair for "gas" around 8:10 then about a half hour
    later headed home to Islip.

Saw Falcon VP-BMB taxing out of Sheltair then out quickly off R 1-9. They used the call sign "Longtail 2" which I see is a Bermuda based exec aircraft charter company.

I saw today that this aircraft is gone. Into the AAM for the restore project?

I'm unsure if they were coming from FRG or not but I just saw 3 CH-47's (or 46's I couldn't tell) flying in formation over Amityville. It was pretty cool.

No news yet, Chris, but look for a new addition to the museum...some "heavy iron"...to be dedicated during their Veteran's Day ceremonies on November 11.

    Oh well ... what a Bummer !!
I was just hoping they were going to have the GFD over at the AAM again,
just like they did 2 years ago when the Hawkeye made a special visit for them.
