Hmmm, imagine that.. The Air Force can't get enough people who signed up to fly real airplanes to go fly drones... Did it really take a year long study for them to realize why???

It probably took a year's study AND a few million in funding to figure out what we'd all consider obvious... Besides working for CBP, there's literally next to nothing that can be directly done with drone experience, though without the physical demand, it's likely possible to fly UAV/RPAs/whatever they're calling them these days well into one's AARP years.

Don't worry, I hear they will be moving KC-10 pilots over to fly drones. Not much different - push a few buttons, sit back and watch...

Moose they know you have trouble with all those pesky buttons on the phone. The telegram is coming over the wire.

Last year (I guess) at the McGuire AFB open house, I was talking with a guy, I think he had come out of C-17s and was now an UAV pilot.

I find it hilarious they wear flight suits to sit in a Lay-Z-Boy and play Flight Simulator.

Good point. Why not show up in boxers flip flops and a Jimmy Buffett shirt to do the job...?
And I, I took the path less traveled by
and that has made all the difference......yet...
I have a feeling a handle of people are going to be very interested in what I post in the near future.

because when you are sending a hellfire missle into a compound full of bad guys you have to give the situation the respect it deserves.
The beehive hummm of the JT9D and GE CF680C2,the thunder of the JT8D-17,the rumble of the PW1830 and the high ,thin whine of the PW 545A are all music to my ears!
