    BDL 12/26/2011

I was craving a spotting trip but had to be back home for a prior engagement this evening so I had to stay close. I woke up early and headed up to BDL even though the wind forecast wasn't all that great. The whole way up the forecast was saying mostly sunny but when I got there it was mostly cloudy and the sun danced in and out of the clouds until about 9:00 which made a few shots kinda difficult, but rewarding on others. Had two specials visit Bradley today of which I only was able to get one since they were split on arrivals. I gotta say that it sucks bad enough when JFK is split, but doing split arrivals at an airport with as little traffic as BDL has and it sucks a whole hell of a lot more. And I also saw a biz jet with a reg I didn't think I would see in CT.

    Here they are....

First shot of the day the sun poked through the clouds a bit..

And was out a bit more with the second shot of the day. I love the golden colors of sunrise..

Then the clouds became a little less cooperative..

Sun came out and actually stuck around...

A nice looking Gulfstream "Presidential Air"

And this bizjet I saw on the Bombardier ramp (note the reg# and marking on tail)

Steve, next time you go spotting in the future, please take me with you and what I mean is not in the near future but in the year 2100. How [did] you get there? Black Hole? Worm Hole? Gravitational Pull of the Sun?

    Great catch on the VP-BES!!

Thank you very much guys. You're all too kind! As far as that VP-BES, I was just doing a little exploring and parked my truck to get out and see what I could get at the UPS ramp. When I started walking towards the Bombardier building I saw the flag on the tail and decided to check it out. I had to grab a shot of her.

Here is two more shots (nothing special) from today from another one of my locations.

Thanks pal! All-in-all I'd say the trip up to BDL was well worth it even if I missed a lot of traffic that went to the other runway.

I guess the secret is out now. My truck doubles as a time machine.
