    Super Bowl Visitors

Delta and AA are adding service from the LGA and BOS to IND for the big game on Feb. 5th, with most of the special service on Feb. 3rd and Feb 6th.
    • LGA will get two rare visitors from Delta on Feb. 6th: A 757-300 and a 767-300.
    • AA is adding an MD-80 on LGA-IND (2/3) and IND-LGA (2/6).
    • The volume and size of traffic will be unusual for IND.
    • BOS will see some upgauging but nothing too unusual.
Other carriers will likely follow suit, especially US and CO. Add anything neat (special types, crazy charters, etc) you hear about below.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We have a small problem.
All four engines have stopped. We are doing our damnedest to get them under control.

Not to nitpick, but DL hasn't had 767-200's in years. Did you mean a 757-200 or a 767-300?

On the Indy side there should be a ton of private/corporate charters coming in. Imagine in two years when the Super Bowl is here. EWR and TEB
    will be interesting.

When was the last time a 757-300 was at LGA? It hasn't been since ATA, has it?

Delta flies them in sometimes, as as aircraft sub. IIRC, last winter after all the snow we had, they were used to make up for the passenger backlog.

    SuperBowl charters

I know that the NY Giants flew from EWR to Indy on a UAL aircraft but I can't find the tail # or aircraft type. I believe it was a charter. Also, how did the NE Pats arrive? Here in NYC, we had no coverage. I believe that neither team has an aircraft with its logo on the livery.

The Giants chartered a UAL 767-400ER from KEWR. NE flew with in a DAL 767-400ER I believe.

Twice in this thread I had to ask myself "Since does (airline) fly (aircraft)!?!" So weird hearing Delta flying 753s and United with 764s.

We'll have to watch for your flyover. Oh wait, it's in a dome...

yeah, it was going to be a good one too...looks like we're going to a remote airport with no rental car, no crew car, and nothing to do anywhere within walking distance...it'll be a fantastic 14 hour day sitting at the airport =/
