    Intresting, I for some reason had it in my head that Col. Tillman mentioned it on the National Geo special on AF1

    ADW-ORBI is only 5300nm, which is well within the range of a normal 742 (the VC-25s have the more powerful engines from the 743), and AF1 isn't going out at full gross.

    For a similar operation, LY used to use the 742 on the 5000nm NYC-TLV stage. They flew non-stop to Israel and sold non-stop tickets for the return. Those planes had a bit of extra weight, and a fairly high pax/bags count, as well.
